The APP Polarity Training Program
The Associate Polarity Practitioner registration training is a 170 hour program which takes the form of seven weekend seminars over the course of seven months (Oct. – April) and a 3 session supervision practicum (dates and times jointly decided by participants and the supervisor). These seminars are both an educational journey and a healing journey. In these seminars students gain an in-depth understanding of Polarity theory and practice through instruction and by working with each other. The primary goal is the intellectual and experiential understanding of the Polarity Energy Model. In this first level of training students will learn to appreciate and deeply affect the interrelationships of the body, mind, emotion and spirit through the study of the Five Elements (ether, air, fire, water, earth). This system of “element evaluation” will allow students to attune to disruptions in the free flow and balance of these elemental energies and to intuitively create sessions that reestablish a harmonious interaction. Throughout this training the holistic body-mind-emotion-spirit approach will be emphasized and the integration of counseling, nutrition and exercise are used to support the bodywork process.
The training is open to anyone with a strong interest in the healing arts and/or their own personal development. Past graduates have included massage therapists and other body therapy practitioners, nurses, chiropractors, psychotherapists, healthcare professionals, physical therapists, creative arts therapists, and business people of all kinds. This training program offers CE hours from NCBTMB & NYS for Licensed Massage Therapists.
APP Supervision Practicum
Supervision is a vital component to building and maintaining a successful practice. As part of the APP training program, students will take one three class series which will focus on practice building, case evaluation of the client’s healing process, and techniques and issues specifically related to Polarity practice. Participants will have the opportunity to review and refine their work, and to contribute to each other in group discussion.
APP Program Requirements
In addition to the successful completion of all seven weekends, supervision and clinic (included in the cost of the training), 30 documented Polarity sessions given by the student and 5 Polarity sessions received by an RPP practitioner are required. The textbook for the class is “The Polarity Process” by Franklyn Sills.
